Photos for your enjoyment

About Shmuli

I live in New York where I am part of the User Experience (graphic design) team at B&H Photo, the professional’s source for all photography needs. Where my photography hobby and my past in CSS & HTML coding come in handy at times.

I come from a large family where many of my siblings hold positions in education, but we also have some working in home improvement and real estate, and then there is me doing my photography and graphic design. We where all raised in a small city in the center of Holland called Amersfoort. Where I have spend lots of time biking around and exploring the beautiful landscapes and canals Holland is known for. It’s always great to get back to my home town, I just wish I would be able to go there more often.

At the age of 13 I received my first film camera for my Bar-Mitzvah, at first photography did not interest me that much, but that changed over the years, especially when digital photography became more popular. In 2001 I bought my first digital camera, a Canon Powershot A300, and I really started to develop a love to capture a memory that lasts forever. That is when I realize that the only answer to my photographic needs is an DSLR. It started of in 2004 with a Canon Rebbel XT, that is since been upgraded to a Canon 50D, with some additional lenses, the lensBaby among them.

If you don’t see me behind my camera or behind a computer, I’m probably on a bike cruising somewhere around town!

At the moment my wife and I live in New York with our 3 beautiful children.
